Meet Cher Smith
Cher Smith has enjoyed her role as a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant since November 2000 and is working toward a leadership role of enriching women’s lives.
Throughout her life, Mary Kay Ash showed others how to live, and how to give. She gave hope to women who lacked opportunity and self-esteem, and she gave financial support to the causes she believed in. Today, we honour her legacy of love through The Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation, which was founded in Canada in 2001.
Through its grant program and awareness initiatives, the Foundation supports women living with the appearance-related side effects of cancer through Look Good Feel Better and by contributing to women's domestic violence shelters and supporting community outreach programs. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded almost $1 million to help women going through cancer treatment throughout Canada.
Prior to working her Mary Kay business full-time, Cher worked for the Community Care Access Centre of Peel. She was Executive Secretary to the Director, Corporate Services and was promoted to Executive Assistant to the Executive Director with responsibilities for all administrative support, as well as provided assistance to the Executive Director and the Board of Directors. This position involved working closely with staff at all levels of the organization, external stakeholders and the public.
Cher is currently enjoying her role on the Link Board of Directors as Secretary.
